Diego Acosta is a 2nd-year Mechanical Engineering student here at Northeastern University and plans on graduating in 2025. Robotics have been a passion of his since high school, and he has continued to pursue this interest through his involvement with the NU Robotics Club on the Robotic Arm Project. In addition to robotics, he has developed a keen interest in Materials Science and has been fortunate enough to join the Bai Research Group in the fall of 2021 through UPLIFT. Diego and the group focus on the mechanics of soft active materials and their applications in soft robotics, human-machine interfaces, and human health. While he is always learning and being exposed to new concepts through the research group, he has also been able to pursue self-guided learning through PEAK Experience Awards. Diego is always eager to connect with others who share his passion for engineering and research. Please feel free to reach out to Diego via email at acosta.d@northeastern.edu or connect with him on LinkedIn. He looks forward to hearing from you!
